Immortality for the nonbeliever
There are concepts in physics and cosmology that say that the universe is not the fluid moment to moment entity that we happeen to experience it as. It’s possible, even likely, that all moments in time exist as a single entity. Think of the universe as giant loaf of bread, and you are a raisin. Slice that loaf as thinly as you possibly can and you get a “moment” in time. Add every moment together and you get the loaf of space time. Combine this odd thought with Chaos Theory. If a butterfly flaps it’s wings… yada yada yada…. Chaos theory however cliche, seems to hold true, and if it is, the implications are astounding. It means that whoever you are, whatever you do, your impact is forever etched in the history of the universe. Your raisin can never be removed from the loaf. Like a phonograph record, your presence represents a slight variable, and thus an infinitely replayable moment in history. Everything that comes after you in a causal universe MUST, by the laws of physics, be impacted by you. Thus, you are immortal, and so am I, in a sense.
